LIVER PARTY RECORDS MONTHLY NEWSLETTER 04/17/25
Well, a lot happened this past month, hence the severe delay in publication.
This newsletter now acts more as a monthly blog (something I stole from Tyler) that every member can contribute to with their own writing on their music and thoughts and life if they so choose, but unless otherwise stated, the words here are written by Solska. I'm 18 now, and I got a job, so I'm more or less now totally on track to becoming an "adult". We'll see how that goes. That said, with a job comes less time to do literally anything ever at all because I also have school and college work and all that shit, so the album's progress has been significantly slowed the past week or so by all of this. I had to delay the album to now release by June 22, 2025 but even that is seeming dubious now. I don't know, I'm trying, and everyone is trying. I was listening to a demo of one of the songs on the album earlier, a remaking of the Liver Party!! song "For The Benefit of All Living Beings", and even with the unfinished demo I was listening to (complete with glorious midi saxophones, clarinets, flutes soon to be real saxophones, clarinets, flutes) I got chills listening to it. That's always an amazing feeling, being able to enjoy your own music and dissociate yourself from the process briefly. I've had to make some compromises here and there, but it's still coming, and it'll still be good. Other than that, I've been listening to a lot of Mothers of Invention, Captain Beefheart (only Troust Mask Replica, though), Pere Ubu, and some of the late-career Ornette Coleman stuff that always gets overlooked in favor of The Shape of Jazz to Come. I've also been reading this textbook on literary theory that I got from my mentor, currently on the chapter on Structuralist criticism.
Also, Consolation Prize by Burning Dutch Girl (LPR-004) releases on May 22nd. Har har har. Cunt.
