"In any sense of the word, Joan is a fighter. She is constantly fighting for her own existence, her own emotions, her own music, and her own security.
Since 2023 she's been making music. Her music is fun, angry to the point of distortion, and melodic. She does all her own stunts.
The new album Solska has made is a fine portrait of herself, cut up into pieces that interlock and move together.
It has songs that vary a lot, very rapidly, but all pin down this anger that she dies to put into form as music. It's catharsis, it hurts, it's glorious.
