Jonah was born on April 9th, 2007, in Sheffield, Alabama. Jonah spent their early childhood in abject poverty living with their single mother. Jonah’s primary interests at this age were video games, as they offered brief escapism from a turbulent living situation with abusive men and religious fundamentalists.
It was only in their early adolescence that Jonah developed an interest in music, specifically music that dealt with difficulties in living as a queer individual surrounded by the right wing evangelist types.
