LIVER PARTY RECORDS MONTHLY NEWSLETTER 05/14/25
Tomorrow marks one week until the deadline for Look What Fear's Done to My Body. I am choosing not to disclose my personal feelings on the matter at the moment, but I will tell you that beyond that album I will be doing a lot musically this summer. Me and Jack (Burning Dutch Girl) plan on beginning recording of an EP under the name "The Lead Paint Memorial", and me and Sean Hoss (the saxophonist on Look What Fear's Done to My Body) will be composing and recording an album called The Black Knight's Tango under the name Naked Lunch. It is to be a Post-Punk influenced Minimalist album named after the chess opening of the same name. It will have four tracks in total, titled:
- d4,
- Nf6,
- c4,
- Nc6,
starfy! Also released their fantastic chiptune album "Interaction Decay" (LPR-004) earlier this month. You can check it out on our very own website if you haven't already.
TRANSMISSION FROM BURNING DUTCH GIRL:
The Consolation Prize Pre Release Rant
A Brief History of Burning Dutch Girl
I started Burning Dutch Girl in early 2024, after abandoning a previous alias which shall not be named. Said alias was executed for multiple reasons, including, but not limited to:
- Complete lack of quality control (5 albums in a month, Jesus Harold Christ Jack.)
- My overwhelming edgelord tendencies at the time
- I accidentally came up with a way better name
Talking Shit About “Talking Shit About a Pretty Sunset”
When I was younger I thought it was funny to shit on Modest Mouse for no fucking reason. (This era coincided with my pre-BDG efforts.) Last week I finally listened to their first two albums, and, much to my younger self’s horror, quite enjoyed them. Upon first listen, Talking Shit About a Pretty Sunset had, coincidentally, summed up the state of mind I was in during the peak of the “fuck Modest Mouse” bit perfectly. Overly cynical, annoying, and outwardly hostile towards anyone that criticized me. (How’s it feel to be on the right side of history, assholes?) Please note: although I had the same attitude towards Car Seat Headrest at the time, I was completely right about them.
